Children of all ages will enjoy sinking their hands into vibrant Sweet Lemonade Playdough. It’s soft, squishy, and smells like real lemonade!
Sweet Lemonade Playdough
This lovely lemonade playdough can be made from ordinary ingredients you probably already have in your cupboard. Kids love to help with measuring, stirring, and of course…playing! It’s perfect for summer.
Materials and Directions:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp Cream of Tartar
- 1 tsp Lemon Extract
First measure and pour all of the ingredients together in a small saucepan. Stir the mixture well until it is free of clumps.
Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently. When the playdough is ready, it will clump into a ball in the pot.

Dump the playdough onto a counter and allow it to cool momentarily. When it is cool enough to touch, knead the playdough until it is soft and smooth.
Set out play teacups, straws, cookie cutters, and rolling pins. Kids will enjoy having an imaginary lemonade party with their new lemon scented playdough! My children even asked for a few mint leaves as garnish!
Note: This playdough is not edible. Do not allow children to eat it!
Making homemade playdough for children develops their imagination and is fun sensory play! Make a batch of Pink Lemonade Playdough too and double the fun!
