5 Fun Food Ideas for Kids
Spaghetti Dogs
Ingredients: hot dogs or sausages and uncooked spaghetti. We also added blueberries for water, goldfish snacking crackers for fish, and bugle snacks for coral. You can find the full instructions to make this Fun Snack: Spaghetti Dogs.
Crescent Crab
Ingredients: a crescent filled with your favorite sandwich makings (we used a seafood salad), avocado slices for legs, strawberries for pincers, grapes inserted with toothpicks for eyes.
Peanut Butter and Pretzel Teepee
Ingredients: a big mound of peanut butter with large pretzel logs inserted into it to form a teepee. Small pretzel sticks to form the logs of a campfire and a cut piece of cheddar cheese to make a fire. A celery stick to make a boat. Goldfish snack crackers look like fish swimming in a river. Animal crackers look like fun visitors to this campground. A piece of round cheddar cheese and a raspberry on top of the teepee finish this fun kids snack. TIP: You can use any kind of nut or seed butter such as sunbutter, hummus, almond butter, etc.
Zucchini and Cucumber Boat
Ingredients: a halved zucchini stuffed with a cold salad (seafood, pasta, tuna) with a thin sliced piece of cucumber inserted with a skewer to form the sail. We used all natural fruit strips to form a flag on top of the sail. Champagne grapes and goldfish snack crackers to form waves in the ocean (or lake) finish out this fun food idea. My kids liked having this for lunch.
Sweet Potatoes and Meatballs Hidden Forest
Ingredients: A mound of mashed sweet potatoes is topped with lightly steamed broccoli and surrounded by meatball boulders. A small lake of cranberry sauce makes a waterfall onto the plate. Animal crackers are having an adventure exploring the forest of broccoli. My kids loved eating this for dinner.
