A while back we shared a simple Homemade Chocolate Suckers recipe that was only four ingredients to make. I was really surprised by how much my boys and myself really liked them. The honestly tasted like a Tootsie Roll!
It got me thinking that I should make some Honey Lemon Homemade Suckers that would be soothing on dry throats. With our allergies being out of control, it was the perfect time to make these!
I love Honey Lemon Tea when I’m a little under the weather so I thought these would be great when I didn’t have tea, and frankly lemon is my very favorite flavor so I knew I’d love these. Check out how easy they were to make!
How to Make Lemon Honey Homemade Suckers
Ingredients You Need
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Water
- 1/3 Cup Honey
- 10 Drops Lemon Essential Oil
- Sucker Sticks
Instructions
Step 1 – Have a cookie sheet ready to go with parchment paper or Silpat lining it
Step 2 – Place the Sugar, Water, and Honey into a pot and turn on medium heat
Step 3 – Stir until the sugar is dissolved
Step 4 – Once the Sugar is dissolved, place your candy thermometer into the candy mixture and turn the heat up to high
Step 5 – Let the sugar mixture reach 300 degrees without mixing
Step 6 – Pour the Sugar mixture very carefully into a glass bowl and quickly mix in the Lemon Essential Oil
Step 7 – Pour small circles of the mixture onto the cookie sheet and insert the sucker sticks
Step 8 – Let the suckers cool and harden. Enjoy!
Have you ever made our own suckers like this? There’s amazingly easy and the kids love them! Besides the sticks, all the ingredients are probably in your kitchen right now! They make a great treat to suck on when you have a sore throat or a little cough too!
