Are you suffering from tummy troubles? If so, you may be wondering if there are any natural ways you can cope with them. Essential oils can be a good option. While you won’t want to consume essential oils for your stomach problems, you can use essential oils for tummy troubles by applying a diluted solution to the abdomen.
Essential Oils for Tummy Troubles
- Peppermint – This is by far the most well-known essential oil for treating stomach ailments. Peppermint essential oil can help get rid of abdominal pain, nausea and stomach cramps. It helps relax the abdominal muscles, which makes it a great option for alleviating cramps, including those from PMS. It can also help reduce gas and bloating.
- Ginger ale – Are you trying to reap the benefits of ginger without drinking soda? If so, ginger essential oil may be a good option. Just like ginger ale, this essential oil can help ward off nausea and vomiting.
- Chamomile – Chamomile essential oil has been found to help improve many digestive issues. It has been found to reduce bowel inflammation and relieve stomach cramps. It can also help get rid of gas, therefore reducing belly bloat. Although it hasn’t been researched, some even believe it reduces parasites.
- Cumin – This essential oil is a popular choice among those who suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Cumin essential oil has been found to provide relief to IBS-related symptoms, such as constipation and diarrhea. It can also help reduce stomach pain and cramps.
- Lemon – If you’re trying to regulate your digestive system, you might consider trying lemon essential oil. It can help reduce diarrhea or constipation to get your digestive system back on track.
- Clove – Are you suffering from Leaky Gut Syndrome? If so, clove essential oil may be an ideal option for you. It is believed to prevent overgrowth of unwanted sugars, yeast, and anything else that may be growing in your intestinal tract.
- Fennel – This essential oil is a good option for relieving gas. If you are suffering from constipation, it can also help reduce the problem by providing a laxative type effect.
Warnings:
It’s important to talk to your doctor before using essential oils to treat tummy troubles. Certain essential oils should not be used in pregnant women (and it’s highly controversial if they should be used at all). Stomach troubles may also be caused by something else, so it’s important to make sure that you’re not ignoring any major health issues before relying on essential oils as a home remedy.
