We’re not supposed to play with our food, but coloring cookies is so much fun! Sometimes I think, if only there were food markers for vegetables, the kids would eat anything I put on their plates, right? Today we are making edible crafts – coloring cookies. I was recently sent a box of Color Me cookies from Elenis New York (a custom cookie company) and we had a blast making edible art! The kit comes with a set of edible markers and pre-frosted cookies ready to be colored. Check out our coloring fun.
A special thank you to Elenis for sending this sample of cookies for us to try. We had a ton of fun coloring together and there were enough cookies to share! Edible Crafts – Coloring Cookies
I’m amazed at how bright these markers are and my daughter was SO EXCITED at how easy the cookies were to color. She commented multiple times about how smooth the frosting was. It’s like a smooth piece of paper that is just begging for someone to add art too.
The Color Me cookie kit we received included 8 animal cookies. We grabbed the horse and of course colored our own rainbow. I think if mu daughter had room, she would have drawn in a horn and some glitter!
I spy a Monkey in there!
These cookies would make an amazingly fun party activity! There are 5 markers that are nice and thick so little hands can easily hold them. The color is bright and bold and the tips are easy to draw with.
It’s almost too pretty to eat isn’t it? I think everyone should have their own rainbow horse cookies… Don’t you? We thought this was a great way to end a school day!
Now you might be asking – sure, they look fun, but how do they taste? GREAT! The cookies themselves are not too sweet. They are almost like a shortbread with just the right amount of crunch. The frosting has a nice sweet taste without being overly sugary. Because they are designed to be drawn on, the icing is nice and stick, but not so much that you don’t want to eat it.
I was also impressed with the packaging of this cookie coloring kit. It would make a great gift. It comes wrapped up in two layers of plastic wrap so the cookies taste nice and fresh. Inside the cookie tin there are multiple layers of a padded paper so that cookies don’t break during shipping.
More fun info about Eleni’s New York. Not only can you buy these fun Color Me cookie kits in a variety of cookie themes and shapes, but you can also shop for custom cookies. You can have your own special photos or a monogram designed on cookies for your next special occasion. I think this would be amazingly fun and unique birthday party idea for that special celebration!
