I am so excited to share this recipe! I sat out to make a cuticle cream that would rival my Burt’s Bees (since making it on my own would cost so much less) and I did it! I wasn’t sure how it would work out but it is so good.
Especially during the winter months, my hands and cuticles get so dry. Living in the midwest means several freezing cold months and crazy dry skin. This is something I will be making every year now and I plan on giving it out as a gift to some of my friends.
DIY Citrus Cuticle Cream
Here’s what you need to make this. I only made a couple because they last for a quite a while. If you plan to make these as gifts though, just double or triple the recipe to make them in bulk.
- Small tins
- 2 tsp of Beeswax
- 2 tsp of Shea Butter
- 1/2 tsp of Coconut Oil
- Essential oils
(If you’re making lots of things with your essential oils and don’t want to buy jars and tins in bulk, here is a starter kit with lots of accessories to get you started.
Heat water in a small saucepan – you don’t want it to start boiling, so just watch it so it doesn’t pour over. Put the beeswax, coconut oil and shea butter in a glass bowl and sit it right on top of the sauce pan. Let it melt!
Take it off the heat and put in 10 drops of Burst essential oil. This citrus blend is absolutely perfect for this recipe and smells incredible. If you double your recipe, remember to double the oils also.
Pour the mixture carefully into your containers, working quickly because the shea butter hardens fast. Once it’s dry, go ahead and try it! I think you will love this recipe as much as I do.
