Paper plates are one of the most versatile crafting staples. We use them for lunch everyday so they are always on hand, great to grab and craft with when we run out of paper.
Last spring we made roses from paper plates, and spring birdies. Today we are crafting with our plates to make flying snakes.
Paper Plate Craft
Supplies needed:
- Sturdy paper plate
- Finger paints – we love this neon collection.
- Yarn
- Scissors
- Hole punch
We covered our paper plate with paint. After it dried, we used scissors and cut a spiral around the outside of the plate, circling all the way to the snake’s “head”.
At the head, we used the hole punch to pop out two eyes for our snakes. Through the eye holes we threaded the yarn.
Summer Art Activity
It’s super colorful and happy! Perfect for a kite-flying summer afternoon! Pull the snake behind you twisting and twirling as you run.
