My child’s not old enough for that activity. My child’s too old. My child can’t do that yet. That’s way too easy for my child.
Wherever your child is, scavenger hunts can grow with your kids as they grow.
I am super excited to partner with Little Tikes Perfect Fit 4-in-1 Trike that does just the same. Grows with your child from 9 months to 5 years.
This Around Town Scavenger Hunt grows with your child too!
The Perfect Fit Trike is a stroller, push trike, and full trike all in one. It’s a ride-on that grows with your child.
How many times have you bought a toy that your child has immediately outgrown?
The Around Town Scavenger Hunt can be used similarly.
Around Town Scavenger Hunt Variations for Different Ages
When you have a toddler, go for a stroll (in the The Perfect Fit Trike in the “Stroll” stage, of course!) and point out the items on the scavenger hunt list.
When your toddler starts to recognize objects better, cut out just a row of the list to find only a few of the items (to not overwhelm them at this stage).
When you have a preschooler, find the objects as usual.
When you have an older child, play a game of Bingo! Can they find all the objects in a row or a column? Or cut out just the words to read.

I printed out two copies of the Around the Town Scavenger Hunt printable. One for my toddler, Louis, and another for my preschooler, George.
I taped them onto a piece of cardboard (double sided tape worked well). I didn’t have clipboards handy for them, this was an easy substitute I did have on hand.
We headed out around town to find the items on the list.
My preschooler was all over it!
I am so glad I had the push handle on The Perfect Fit Trike because Louis couldn’t keep up with him! It helped me push him along and steer if he wasn’t paying attention.
We took breaks in the walk to just stop and look around to see what it is they could find on the scavenger hunt list.
Some things got overlooked when we were passing by quickly.
Louis hasn’t done a lot of handwriting yet, so I was pleased to see him X off the objects just like his big brother George showed him how to do.
After about three-fourths of the objects were found, they were starting to get antsy and restless (and have to go to the bathroom), so it was time to pack up and head back home.
Louis put the scavenger hunt cards in the back bucket of the trike to carry home easily.
