Simple play at its best! We’ve been getting back to the basics and redoing old activities we’ve done several times.
Want to see the simplest activities we’ve ever done?
I buy most of my stuff online. I’m a huge Amazon.com Prime fan (that’s an affiliate link if you’re interested in getting it, it doesn’t cost you any more).
I don’t get bubble wrap in our packaging as often anymore. Which is a good thing, I suppose.
We do get it every once in awhile though and when we do, its a special treat.
Next time you get it, tape it down to the floor for a fun runway! (I always tuck mine away in a drawer or cupboard until we have a rainy day like we just did).
The boys went crazy!
I had enough bubble wrap to make two runways, so I challenged the boys.
Who can pop all their bubble wrap first?
At first they went crazy hopping, jumping, running across their runway as fast as they could.
And it got a little silly too. Louis found it fun to run on both runways at the same time. Back and forth!
Find more amazing gross motor activities like this!
And George got silly taking giant leaps as he ran across the bubble wrap.
It was all in good fun, and they were behaving rather well (they weren’t actually getting too out of control).
Eventually, they began to slow down. Probably because most of the bubbles were popped.
They began to crawl on it, popping it with their hands then.
I was shocked that no trucks came into the action this time (see our fun below from a couple years ago).
Below is a previous version of our Bubble Wrap Runway we did with trucks and tractors!
The kids drove their vehicles on it, popping the bubbles as they went.
Or just used their fingers, because that’s always fun too!
And of course, run, run run! Run along it, popping all the bubbles under your feet. What a fun sensory experience!
Just don’t go throwing it away next time you get it. Bring it out and have a little fun!
Save this idea for a rainy day!
