Lemon Dipped Milano Cookies
I love to bake homemade cookies, especially Chocolate Chip Cookies, but sometimes I need something quick and easy. For example, when our neighbor mows our grass, I often bring over Dipped Oreos or these Dipped Lemon Chocolate Milano cookies. They can be made in 30 minutes or less with very little dishes!
These cookies are fun to share with teachers too. Package them in a cute bag or box with a note of gratitude, then send them to school in your child’s backpack.
Materials and Directions:
- Lemon Chocolate Milano Cookies
- 1 bag of white candy melts
- 1 tsp lemon extract
- Chocolate sprinkles/jimmies
- Yellow food dye
Supplies that May Help:
- Microwave safe bowl
- Spatula
- Measuring spoons
- Parchment paper
- Cookie sheet
After gathering your supplies, melt the white candy melts as directed on the bag in a microwave safe bowl. When the candy melts are melted thoroughly, gently stir in 1 tsp of lemon extract and 3–5 drops of yellow food dye.
I desired a soft, buttery shade of yellow for these cookies. That is why I avoided using yellow candy melts.
Dip each cookie into the melted candy halfway. Place the dipped cookie onto a parchment lined cooke sheet and scatter chocolate sprinkles over the top.
Repeat, dipping into the chocolate and sprinkling sprinkles until all of the cookies have been used. Allow the cookies to harden completely before serving—about 20 minutes.
These cookies are perfect with late morning tea or coffee. My kids love to find them in their lunch boxes too!
