This colorful bookmark craft is perfect for fall and heading back to school! So when you’ve finished organizing your school supplies, pull out the hair clips and felt to make these fun and colorful apple bookmarks. Be sure to make an extra to give as a teacher’s gift!
For this bookmark craft you will need:
- Metal hair clips
- Felt: red and/or light green, brown and dark green
- Apple pattern
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun (ask a grown up for help!)
Print out the apple pattern and cut it out. You will need 2 sets of everything cut from felt (stem, leaf, apple). From the leftover felt scraps, cut two strips to fit inside the hair clip. Squeeze the end of the hair clip to open it and hot glue the felt strips to the inside of the prongs. This will keep the clip from getting stuck together when you glue the apples on. Glue the hair clip to one of the apples, right in the center. Glue the second apple on top, covering the visible hair clip. You can use these bookmarks at school for saving your page, or for holding several printable worksheets together after you’ve printed them out. They make great friendship gifts too!
