If you asked my daughter her favorite meal, she would say without hesitation — One Pan Spaghetti with Meat Sauce. Depending on the day, she might say spaghetti and meatballs. So as you may imagine, I make this dish quite a bit!
We try and vary it a bit but the core of spaghetti, ground beef and sauce is always the focus!
Besides being so yummy, it’s really easy especially when you follow this one-pan recipe.
One Pan Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 pound Ground Beef or Turkey
- 1/2 medium Yellow Onion, chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 3/4 box Thin Spaghetti
- 14 ounces Chicken Broth
- 2 cups Water
- 6 ounces Tomato Paste
- 1 teaspoon Oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon Basil, dried
- 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
- Salt to taste
- Parmesan Cheese & Parsley on top
Any and every meal using ground beef starts with browning the meat. Add the onion and garlic to the meat so all the flavors come together.
It will take 8-10 minutes to cook the meat. Make sure you drain the excess fat.
Add the chicken broth, water, tomato paste, oregano, basil and black pepper. Using a whisk, combine all of these ingredients.
Bring this liquid to a boil.
Add the uncooked spaghetti to the liquid and cover. Put the skillet back on the stove and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the spaghetti is cooked. You can also use penne pasta, shells or whatever pasta you choose.
You will know when it’s done when the spaghetti is cooked through and the sauce thickens. Look how yummy this looks!
Add a pinch of salt, parsley and Parmesan cheese before you serve. This is great by itself or with a salad or vegetable!
Your kiddos will love it!
