Ping Pong Ball Painting

Kids Activities Blog http://ift.tt/1zWM7lp ping pong art feature

Part art project, part gross motor activity ping pong ball painting is so much fun!  And the best part?  The results are frame worthy!  Simple enough for a toddler to master but exciting enough to interest much older kids this art project is awesome!  With just a few supplies, most of which you probably already have, you can create beautiful works of abstract art.  This project is easy and quick, perfect for little ones with short attention spans or mamas low on patience.  In fact, this low stress project might be just what you need to turn a frustrating day around!  My son and I had so much fun creating this painting and I loved the results so much I hung it on the living room wall.

How to Create Ping Pong Ball Paintings

  1. Place paints (between 3 and 6 colors) in small bowls or the holes of egg cartons.  Note: you don’t need a whole bunch of paint, maybe a tablespoon of each color for a fairly large painting or two.
  2. Add a bit of water to each color and stir to combine.
  3. Use masking tape to attach a piece or pieces of paper to cover the bottom of your box.
  4. Place one ball in each paint color, roll the balls around until they are well coated.
  5. Set your paint covered ping pong balls on the paper in the box.
  6. Seal the box with more masking tape.
  7. Shake and wiggle the box like crazy.  This is the fun part!
  8. Open your box to reveal your beautiful painting.  Remove the ball and allow to dry
  9. Hang up your gorgeous abstract art for all to enjoy!
