Printable Bookmark and Reading Log

Kids Activities Blog http://ift.tt/1wIVPJv

Make your own personalized bookmark and reading log with this free printable kit designed by Jen Goode. This fun project is a great way accessory to pair with your child’s favorite book or maybe the 101 Kids Activities Book. It’s also fun way to include reading into craft time and help kids create something they can use over and over again. This printable craft kit comes with a reading log, a bookmark and little stars you can use as stickers to decorate.

Printable Bookmark and Reading Log

Personalize your own reading log and bookmark. This is a great classroom activity or a project to make with all the kids in the house. Add your own paper colors and personalize with a name and you’re all set! To get started you need:

  • Scissors and hole punch

Personalize your bookmark and reading log:

  1. Cut out the reading log and bookmark pieces. Trim to size.
  2. Cut out the star “stickers” and glue where ever you’d like them. You can also use the stars as reward stickers, marking when regular reading is accomplished, a book is finished or your child has had a great week of reading.
  3. Punch a hole at the top of the bookmark and string a ribbon through it.
  4. Decorate all your pieces who you’d like. Glue to a piece of construction paper to add color or make the pieces a little larger. It’s up to you how you’d like to fancy up your reading log and bookmark. I added little blue glitter dots to my bookmark. You can do whatever you like!

Reading log and bookmarks you make yourself

You can use this same kit to create a different reading log every month. Just use different colors to decorate the pieces. You can match the seasons or a specific holiday too. If you are using reading logs for school, you can color coordinate for the reading level or the student the log belongs to and then match the bookmark too.

Make a bookmark

Add ribbon to the top of the bookmark so you don’t lose your place when the book is closed. You can use gift wrap ribbon or fabric ribbon, it doesn’t matter, which ever you prefer!

Make a reading log and bookmark with your child

If your child likes to read more than one book at a time, you can make multiple sets of this printable bookmark and reading log. Decorate each one differently, or the same. This would also make a great activity for library day or for those kids that LOVE to read, why not make your own bookmarks as a birthday party activity!
