Spring Oreos

Kids Activities Blog http://ift.tt/1XQ7Loy Spring Oreos

And just like that, it’s spring!

Seriously, yesterday was chilly, grey, and wet. It seems that overnight grass has turned green, daffodils have bloomed, and trees have budded—nature is pretty amazing! Let’s celebrate spring with a cookie so easy that even kids can make them independently—Spring Dipped Oreos.

Spring Oreos

These Spring Oreos are adorable and make a great gift. Simply drop the cookies into a large wide-mouthed mason jar, secure a ribbon and tag, then give give give! What a fun way to surprise neighbors, teachers, and friends.

I also think they would be perfect for a spring baby shower.

I promise these cookies won’t last long at your house! Make a double batch to ensure that you get to enjoy some!

You will need:

  • Wilton Vibrant Green Candy Melts
  • Wilton Spring Nonpareils
  • Golden Oreos

Melt the candy melts as directed on the package. Dip each cookie halfway into the melted candy, then place on a parchment lined cookie sheet.

TIP: You REALLY want to use a cookie sheet. Trust me.

Next sprinkle the nonpareils onto the melted candy. The nonpareils will stick to the melted candy, then scatter and roll around the parchment paper. (This is why you NEED to use a cookie sheet. It’s not fun to step on nonpareils throughout the day!)

Allow the cookies to harden completely (about 30 minutes).

Don’t they look inviting? They are delicious too!
