Meatballs are the food that keeps on giving! We all love meatballs and most importantly, our kids love meatballs. So today on Family Food Live, 5 Easy Ways to Enjoy Meatballs!

My Mom’s Homemade Meatballs

My Mom’s Homemade Meatballs recipe is one you will use all the time. It’s my favorite and so easy to make!

Mozzarella Meatball Sandwich

Shopping List:

  • Use meatballs from the first recipe
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Kaiser Rolls
  • Marinara sauce
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Parsley

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Before you cook the meatballs from the first recipe, fill with a cube of mozzarella cheese
  • Add the meatballs to a kaiser roll
  • Spoon the marinara sauce on top
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top
  • Put in oven for 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted
  • Sprinkle with parsley

Spaghetti Cups with Meatballs

Shopping List:

  • 12 oz Spaghetti
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded
  • 3/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 3 cups Marinara Sauce, divided

For the Meatballs

  • 1 lb. Ground Beef
  • 1/2 cup Bread Crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Garlic, minced
  • Parsley
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 400°
  • Cook spaghetti for about 8 minutes (you want the spaghetti to be al dente), drain and rinse under cold water
  • In a large bowl, combine the spaghetti with 2 beaten eggs, shredded mozzarella, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan and 1 cup marinara
  • Using a muffin tin, spray with cooking spray and nest spaghetti inside, press down in the middle to create a cup
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until the spaghetti is set, let cool
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, garlic, remaining egg, remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan and parsley.
  • Season with salt & pepper and roll into a ball
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil and brown meatballs about 4 minutes on each side.
  • Drain the fat and pour in 2 cups of remaining marinara — let simmer for 5 minutes
  • Put meatball into spaghetti cups and serve

Swedish Meatballs

Shopping List:

  • 1 lb. Ground Beef
  • 1/4 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Onion, chopped
  • 1 Garlic Clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dry Oregano
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 5 tablespoon Butter
  • 3 tablespoon Flour
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • Egg Noodles

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine panko bread crumbs and milk. Let sit for 10 minutes
  • In a skillet, heat up 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter, add onions and cook for about 5 minutes. Add garlic and oregano and saute for another 2 minutes
  • In a separate bowl, combine ground beef, sauteed onions, garlic and oregano
  • Mix in salt, pepper and egg and combine
  • Add bread crumbs and mix well
  • Roll meat until you make your desired meatball size
  • Using the same skillet, brown meatballs on all sides, remove
  • Add 4 tablespoons of butter to skillet, whisk in flour and cook until golden brown
  • Stir in warmed beef broth until it bubbles
  • Add in cream, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard and simmer until the sauce thickens
  • Add meatballs, cover and simmer for about 10 minutes
  • Serve with egg noodles

Slow Cooker Meatballs

Shopping List:

  • Use the meatballs from the first recipe
  • 1 can Tomato sauce
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Pepper

Instructions:

  • Use the meatballs from the first recipe
  • In your slow cooker, add the to jar of marinara sauce, the diced tomatoes, olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper
  • Set the slow cooker on high for 2-3 hours or low for 4-6 hours
