Why You Should Travel With Your Preschooler

Kids Activities Blog http://ift.tt/2pWCGVf

This post is inspired and sponsored by Walt Disney World® Resort and Scholastic.

So often I hear parents say they’re planning a trip when their kids are older. They’re worried that their young kids won’t remember the trip, so the experience will be wasted. But you know what? Some of my best vacations have been with my preschooler.

We are excited to partner with Walt Disney World® Resort and Scholastic to share some reasons why you should travel with your preschooler.

Why You Should Travel with Preschoolers

Why You Should Travel With Your Preschooler

We started traveling with my son when he was an infant. We traveled to Paris, France, shortly after his first birthday. And his passport hasn’t had a rest since.

Here are just a few reasons our family has made travel a priority…

Meeting New People

Children experience the world through travel. It gets them out of their routine and exposes them to new cultures and diversity. This is important for preschoolers who are still learning about the world around them.

My husband and I have made it a priority to travel to places where our son will meet different kinds of people than those we normally interact with. Walt Disney World® Resort is a perfect location to see the sites all in one location.

Meeting Buzz Lightyear

There is nothing like seeing the wonder on your child’s face as they take in a new place. Preschoolers especially have such an innocent way of looking at the world and it’s fun to see how they react.

And they get so excited! I’ll never forget the look on Andrew’s face when he met Buzz Lightyear at Walt Disney World® Resort for the first time. I wish I could have bottled his pure joy!

My son is fearless when we travel. He believes he can do anything — and we encourage it! Once, he wanted to jump onstage during a singing contest. He didn’t know the words to the song, but boy, he was cute as he mumbled his way through the song. He still talks it to this day.

Starfish Point

Travel deepens your relationship with your child. They’re not only experiencing the destination, they’re experiencing it with you — someone that they love. And those bonds are so important, especially when they are young.

Some of my fondest memories with my son are when he and I were traveling. And I know the same is true for him. You develop such a bond as you experience things together. He still talks about the time that we found starfish on the beach in Grand Cayman, and that’s a memory I hope he carries with him for the rest of his life.

Kid with Castle

My son starts kindergarten in the fall, and I’m trying to soak up every last bit of time with him that I can before he does. We’ve planned one last big trip before he goes — this time to Walt Disney World® Resort.

If you’re ready to take a trip with your little one, check out all the fun things there are to do at Walt Disney World® Resort.
