Lady Gaga is here to stay. From last year’s super bowl to this year’s Grammy’s and every girl age 10 and over belting out “Shallow” every time it comes on the radio, it’s time for us to realize that our girls are looking up to Lady Gaga.
Yeah, Lady Gaga is a little crazy, but we as parents can control the message and make sure our kids are learning the things from Lady Gaga we WANT them to learn.
First and foremost, she is an individual. She is 100 percent herself at all times, and she doesn’t make any apologies for it.
This is such an important message for our little girls! (And boys, too!)
She was bullied. Big time. Kids made fun of her when she was in school. So much so that she never wanted to sing, dance, or be in front of anyone. She overcame that, and is one of the most world renowned artists around.
Her voice is considered near perfect, and she wouldn’t be where she is today if she’d let those bullies hold her down. Get it, girl.
She is one of the most accepting people on the planet. She accepts ALL kinds of people, all shapes, sizes and so much more. She can teach us all a thing or two about acceptance, and this is such a great message for our girls.
Especially our middle schoolers.
She works hard. She’s known as a complete professional in the music and film industry. She’s a perfectionist and she works and works to make things perfect.
She wants everyone to know that you don’t get to be an overnight success, you have to work for what you want.
So, next time your daughter’s singing the latest Gaga, remind her of one of these things. Because sure they look up to Lady Gaga, but remember they look up to you, too, and it’s important to show them that it takes all types.
