I am really excited that I just found a new way to freshen my dingy, smelly towels. I love having a good smelling, fluffy towel when I get out of the shower and can’t stand when it smells dirty (even if it’s really clean).
Using towels to clean up after two kids, a big puppy and all the messes around the house makes them start to smell over time. This is especially helpful if they piled up in the laundry, which makes them especially stinky. If you have this problem like I do, here is my simple and easy way to freshen your towels! (Check out our favorite laundry hacks, too.)
A Simple Way To Freshen Your Towels
You need four ingredients for this, and I’m guessing you already have most of them sitting in your cabinets!
- 1/2 cup of Borax
- 1 cup of Washing Soda
- 1/4 cup of Vinegar
- 10 drops of Lemon essential oil
Instead of using your usual laundry detergent, add these into your washing machine while the water is running. Then, wash and dry your towels like normal and they will come out clean and smelling so good!
Lemon essential oils helps remove odors all around the house – the laundry, the dishwasher, carpets, even stinky shoes. It is a must-have!
