Getting Serious About Mom Clothes
Here are the things I’ve learned about my clothes since having children:
- Maternity clothes are underwhelming. And expensive.
- Little black dresses are not made for playing an impromptu soccer game in the back yard.
- If the babysitter happens to have a last minute cancellation, we are GOING. I don’t care if I am rocking my mom clothes.
- If I wear dry clean only clothes to work, I have to expect to have them dry cleaned EVERY SINGLE TIME. In the minutes between the door and the closet, something gross will get on my clothes.
- Skinned knees, play dough, glue sticks, and baking cupcakes all required a mother’s undivided attention regardless of what you are wearing.
- My body has changed shape a bit (okay, a lot!) but the clothes in my closet have not. I want to feel confident and pretty when I get dressed whether I am going out or staying in.
