DIY Essential Oil Body Spray

Kids Activities Blog http://ift.tt/2wV2LbM Essential Oils Great for Body Spray

Are you thinking about making a DIY essential oil body spray? Maybe you’re looking to ditch the chemicals in brand name body sprays or you’re looking for a less expensive alternative. Essential oils can allow you to create beautiful fragrances that are customized just for you! Here are some tips on using essentials for body sprays.

Before you make a body spray, you’ll need to gather your ingredients. You will want to start with a spray bottle to store the body spray. You will also need to use distilled or bottled water.

Keep in mind that you’ll also need to keep things fresh. For a preservative, you’ll need to use either witch hazel or vodka. Vegetable glycerin can also be added to help preserve the scent.

You will want to also use a carrier oil, such as coconut oil or olive oil to dilute your essential oils. This will prevent them from being too concentrated when you add them to your body spray mixture. It will also help to evenly disperse the scent throughout the bottle.

There are other ingredients you can use in your body spray to add scents to it besides essential oils. For example, you might consider using vanilla or raspberry extract.

Last, but certainly not least, you will also need some of your favorite essential oils.

Creating the perfect essential oil blend for your body spray will depend on personal taste. You will want to use scents that you know you enjoy, as well as scents that complement each other well. Here are some ideas.

  1. Citrus spray. You might consider trying a citrus body spray. In this case, you would use lemon, lime, orange, and/or grapefruit essential oils to achieve a citrusy aroma.
  2. Floral spray. If you love floral scents, then this body spray idea may be perfect for you. You can use rose, lavender, and jasmine essential oils to create a heavenly floral scent.
  3. Spicy spray. If you love spicy scents, then you might choose essential oils like ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg. You might also consider adding an extra ingredient like vanilla extract. This would be a perfect combination for an autumn body spray.

The possibilities of what you can do are limitless! It will take some experimentation and some creativity to find a body spray you love, but you’re bound to create some gorgeous fragrances. Be sure to write your favorite combinations down so that you will remember how you created them.
