DIY Glow-in-the-Dark Slime

Kids Activities Blog http://ift.tt/2wqFxK6

This is a sponsored post in partnership with Amazon Kids.

Are your kids obsessed with slime? Our new favorite is DIY Glow-in-the-Dark Slime, inspired by the new Amazon Original Kids series Lost in Oz, which is now available on Prime Video!

Glow-in-the-Dark Slime

My son was hooked on Lost in Oz from the first episode. Dorothy is a budding engineer/tinkerer/creative builder, just like him! If there is a problem to be solved, Dorothy gives it a shot. And that is a message that I am super happy for my son to learn.

Not to mention the fun adventures they go on! From her first moment in the spectacular and peculiar land of Oz, Dorothy is thrust into the mystery solving Oz’s worst magic drought in eons. They are joined by new friends and will face unexpected enemies in this fun, exciting and modern take on a beloved classic.

The brand-new series expands on the multiple Emmy-winning special and stars the voice talent of Ashley Boettcher, Gina Gershon, Allison Mack, Jorge Diaz and Nika Futterman.

With its focus on S.T.E.A.M., Lost is Oz is more than just a regular cartoon. It encourages children to seek all solutions to any problems the encounter.

In order to get home, Dorothy learns she must acquire every element on Oz’s “periodic table of magic” – while the city faces the worst magic drought in eons! Ozonium, is one of the rarest and most powerful magic within Oz, essential to helping Dorothy and Toto find their way back.

While we were watching the show, my son saw the ozonium and said, “Hey, that looks like slime!” So, of course, we had to make Glow-in-the-Dark Ozonium Slime. We even added some glowing water beads to add a little magic and make it look even more like ozonium!

Here’s what you need to make Glow-in-the-Dark Slime:

  • 4 oz bottle clear glue
  • 1/2 Tbsp baking soda
  • Glow-in-the-Dark paint
  • Glow-in-the-Dark water beads
  • 1 Tbsp contact solution

How to Make Glow in the Dark Slime

Pour the glue into a bowl and add the baking soda. Mix together and stir in some glow-in-the-dark paint. Add some glow-in-the-dark water beads to the mixture.

Add the contact solution and stir until the slime starts to come together in the middle of the bowl. Remove from the bowl and knead with your hands until the slime reaches the desired consistency and becomes less sticky. You can add more contact solution if needed.

Glow in the Dark Slime Compared

Use a light to “charge up” the slime — the longer it’s exposed to the light, the longer it will glow!

Now you can watch Lost in Oz with your very own jar of ozonium!
