What could be better than adding chocolate to your favorite fruit? How about Chocolate Apples with Granola, which add a little crunch to make a fun, healthy treat.
Sometimes the best snacks are the ones you can also have fun making and with this snack, your kiddos can enjoy putting it all together as well as devouring it.
This is another snack that doesn’t have too many ingredients.
Chocolate Apples with Granola Recipe
Here’s what you need to make this Chocolate Apples with Granola recipe:
- 1 large Apple (your favorite type of apple will work), cut into slices
- Nutella spread put into a dipping bowl
- Granola (again your favorite will do), put into a dipping bowl
Slice your apple into even slices (use an apple slicer if that helps). Then dip your apple into the Nutella spread until it covers the top of the slice completely.
Dip your apple into the Granola so it sticks to the Nutella spread.
Put finished apples into the refrigerator for at least 5 minutes to set the Nutella. Serve room temperature.
My daughter, Sienna, couldn’t wait to help me with this snack. Here’s how she did it:
Keep in mind, this snack is not supposed to be neat. It’s almost like eating a candy apple, you will get a little messy but that is part of the fun.
I also love that you can have fun with the ingredients for this snack. Substitute the Nutella for Peanut Butter or Cream Cheese. The Granola can be exchanged for chocolate chips or raisins. It’s whatever you want to try.
It’s important your kids understand it’s alright to explore different foods and this snack can help them do it.
