Baby bok choy is known for its mild flavor and tenderness which is why we think it’s a great cruciferous vegetable to add to your cabbage family repertoire (like broccoli, cauliflower, regular cabbage, kale, brussle sprouts). Easy Baby Bok Choy Recipe

Here’s what you need to make this Easy Baby Bok Choy Recipe:

  • 4 baby bok choy (plan on 1-2 full bok choy per person)
  • zest from one small orange or clementine
  • sea salt and pepper to taste
  • avocado oil (or olive oil)Directions

Thoroughly wash the bok choy-including the inside portions and then gently pat dry.

Slice evenly in half and drizzle with a bit of avocado oil and dust with the sea salt and pepper. Let rest for a few minutes while you heat your pan. I used a large flat cast iron pan with a little more avocado oil spread across the surface.

When it is ready, zest a the citrus over the cut side of the bok choy and then place cut side down onto the skillet. Add a sprinkle of water and quickly cover all of the vegetables. This will help steam them and cook them more quickly.

Cook for about 2-3 minutes depending on the bok choy size and how hot your pan is. Carefully remove the bok choy with tongs and enjoy!
