Your kid’s friends are coming over so now is a great time to whip up a great pizza recipe such as our Pepperoni Pizza Bread that is perfect for dipping and snacking. Just watch out–you might become the new neighborhood hangout after you serve up this pizza inspired snack.
You’ll also want to try our Mozzarella Bites. You won’t believe what you can do with leftover cheese.
Don’t let the ingredients in our Pepperoni Pizza Bread stop you from adding all of your family’s favorite pizza add-ons. Try cooked and crumbled Italian sausage, chopped Canadian bacon with pineapples, and sliced black olives to name just a few of the ideas that would be excellent to add to this recipe. Serve this pizza recipe as an after school snack or as an appetizer at your next party.
Pepperoni Pizza Bread
Ingredients
- 1 large french bread loaf OR 2 small french bread loaves
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 pound of shredded mozzarella
- 1 small bag of mini pepperoni slices
- pizza sauce for dipping
Preheat oven to 350 F. Cube the cream cheese. In a medium bowl using a spoon, mix together cream cheese and mini pepperoni slices thoroughly. Set aside. Using a bread knife or a serrated knife, cut a long trough out of each loaf of bread, then using your fingers very gently remove the section of bread (watch our video to see this in action). Place each loaf on a greased cookie sheet OR line with parchment paper. Now fill each trough with the cream cheese and pepperoni mixture. Top with shredded mozzarella, then the bread sections, then top with a sprinkling more of shredded mozzarella. Bake for 20 minutes. Cool slightly, then cut each loaf into 1 1/2 to 2 inch slices. Serve with homemade or store bought pizza sauce for dipping.
